NOVEMBER 25TH, 2023
13 Football Blogs.
11 Media Companies.
250,000 Google Search Results.
In our most recent analysis of 250,000 English-language search results (August, 2023) we found that content sites owned by "digital goliaths" took 86.1% of #1 rankings (!), even though more independent sites were ranking.
For 7 years we've been documenting how just a handful of companies are behind most of what you see in Google search results. Our analysis is not a complaint, but rather documents the state of organic rankings.
We then turn our insights into quarterly reports sharing actual traffic numbers, acquisitions, revenues these companies are generating and more. Q1 received some incredible feedback.
We proudly document the top blogs in dozens of niches to help people seeking great resources, and include ownership as a point of curiosity.
Listing eligibility is not determined by whether an independent webmaster or media company owns a site, and nor are our research scores.
Our research score, in simple terms, is our measure of how interesting you'll find a site if you're viewing it in the context of running a content site yourself. It is not a measure of the quality of content or the traffic to a site, as the former is impossible in niches we're not experts in, and the latter isn't fair to new websites.
You can learn more about our research scores and listing requirements here, but the idea is that you can go to any of the dozens of categories we cover and find fascinating new websites to get insights from.
Why Football365 is #1
As explained above, our research score is not based on the quality of content a site produces (that's very hard to quantify) but rather how interesting we think it will be for someone who owns a gaming blog.
Outside of our research score, GAMINGbible is fascinating because it's owned by a publicy-listed company and if Similarweb estimates are accurate, generates more than half of the visits to their multi-site network.
Primarily though, GAMINGbible is #1 on this list because it looks so different to the typical gaming blog you'll see.
This page is still in progress. You're here early.
